New Advisors Increase the Brain Power and Reach of the Edge Computing Company

Boston (MA) – March 29, 2019 – EdgeIQ, the company that provides Device Relationship Management (DRM) software for connected products and the connected enterprise, today announced the creation of its new Board of Advisors and its five members. All the advisors have deep experience in what it takes to build, deploy and manage connected products and solutions at scale for large global markets. Each advisor brings years of experience and unique perspectives on technology and intellectual property, go to market strategy, scaling sales operations and general management.

Richard Barnwell

Mr. Barnwell is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at athenahealth. Richard joined athenahealth after spending several years at Microsoft, where he was a partner engineering manager, leading teams which develop unified endpoint management and security products. Earlier at Microsoft, Richard led teams developing the Dynamics 365 business applications. Richard also held engineering leadership roles at a number of early-stage companies, working in a variety of domains including indoor location, industrial Internet of Things, and eCommerce. About joining EdgeIQ's board of advisors, Barnwell stated, “I have had the good fortune of working at the intersection of the physical and digital domains a large part of my career. I believe EdgeIQ is uniquely positioned to accelerate digital transformation of connected organizations with their offering.”

 

Terra Bastolich

 

Ms. Bastolich is presently the Vice President of Marketing at GetWireless, a leading Value-Added Distributor of cellular solutions that connect the Internet of Things through a strong portfolio of hardware, software, and connectivity solutions.  Bastolich's industry experience includes executive sales leadership positions for Netcomm Wireless and Multitech Systems; both established leaders in the wireless communications market. She is a frequent speaker at industry events and has been a major contributor to the growth of several products in the early days of M2M and IoT communications. According to Bastolich, “A nearly universal frustration of organizations buying IoT infrastructure and building IoT systems is the challenge of reliable monitoring and management of connected devices. I’ve seen how easy EdgeIQ can make this for customers.”

Mario DeRango

Mr. DeRango is the former Vice President and Chief Architect for Motorola Solutions and is now a Principal and Founder of Intechigence. Intechigence provides technology consulting and advisory services for governments and enterprises. While at Motorola, DeRango led a team of solution architects that developed some of the most sophisticated communications systems and IoT-based intelligence applications serving public safety and enterprise organizations worldwide. He holds 22 issued patents and is a former board member of the Telecommunications Industry Association. According to DeRango, “EdgeIQ is uniquely positioned to solve important problems for producers of Connected Products. Not only is their offering feature-rich and simple to deploy, it embraces the relationships between technologies and stakeholders in the entire value chain. Device Relationship Management is a concept that organizations must embrace."

Dave Gagne

Mr. Gagne is Managing Director at GTM Technology Group and a former Sales and Business Development executive at Mist Systems, Zebra Technologies, Motorola Solutions and AirDefense. Gagne has created and led some of the largest and most successful sales organizations in the wireless infrastructure and enterprise solution markets. His recent consulting engagements include one of the largest retailers in the world and their technology innovation strategies.  “I’ve had a front row seat to the evolution of networks supporting enterprise hardware, applications and solutions. One constant is the need to provide robust, reliable monitoring and management of infrastructure and devices. EdgeIQ is well poised to deliver this value for the growing market of Connected Products and OEMs,” stated Gagne.

John Stroia

Mr. Stroia is President at Hamilton Safe and a recognized leader in the Smart Building and Security market segment. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Security Industry Association (SIA) from 2016 - 2018) and on its board since 2007. Stroia was Vice President Corporate Development for Diebold and also served as Chief Operating Officer for the Will-Burt Company. He is without question one of the security industry’s most recognized and respected experts. According to Stroia, “I have worked in the smart building and physical security markets for more than 20 years. I know first-hand how complex the lifecycle management of products can be. The market needs solutions that EdgeIQ offers.”
